A 5 days loop from Nice between the French and Italian Alps, this Road Trip is a blend of a maximum of tracks and small roads.
We will meet some classics on the route like the Strada dell’Assietta on the Italian side, very beautiful track which leads to the Costa Piana pass, or the Parpaillon tunnel on the French side.

DAY 1 : Tinée valley
160 KM & 5h
This morning briefing with the tour guide in Nice.
Let’s go !
We leave Nice in direction of the North and attack our first tracks which bring us to the pass of Turini. We cross the Vésubie valley and we finish the day in the Tinée valley.
DAY 2 : Embrun
165 KM & 5h30
Today we continue northward and after crossing the Moutière pass parallel to the Bonnette pass and its highest road in Europe, we attack the famous Parpaillon pass and end the day in Embrun in the Hautes-Alpes.
DAY 3 : Bardonnechia
170 KM & 5h30
The crossing of the Durance valley by beautiful forest tracks will bring us to Briançon, the highest fortified city in Europe, gateway to Italy and Bardonecchia where we will spend the night.
DAY 4 : Saluzzo
220 KM & 6h
Early in the morning we climb the rocky tracks of the Sommeiller pass at 3,000 m altitude and then head towards the Strada dell’Assietta to pass the Basset pass before plunging towards the Grand Bosco Natural Park to the south. We follow the silhouette of Mount Viso near which we will spend the night.
DAY 5 : Nice
200 KM & 6h
Today we continue south towards Limone and the Tende pass, which we cross mid-morning and which marks the entrance to the Alta Via del Sale, an ancient trade route with its lunar-like trails perched at an altitude of over 2,000m.
We finish these tracks at the border between Italy and France.
Only a few more kilometres and we are back in Nice where this adventure ends.
