Cantwell

Let's go! As you leave Anchorage in your mirrors, the roads and gravel tracks will lead you to the magnificent Denali Mountain, North America's highest peak, standing tall at 6,190 m (20,310 feet). Following this route through dense forests and clear rivers, you're retracing the steps of the early explorers who dared to conquer these wild and demanding terrains.

Day 3:
Delta Junction
370 KM & 5h

The call of the wild beckons you to the Denali Highway, a challenging trail of more than 200 km cutting through Alaska's pristine nature. The majestic Mont Denali stands prominently behind you, its awe-inspiring silhouette reaching into the sky. You'll reach Paxson on the other side of this legendary route.

Day 4:
Chicken
300 KM & 3h30

Your next destination is Chicken, a village exuding authenticity, with the Wrangell Mountains accompanying you on the road, taking your journey to an epic level. Established in 1896 during the Klondike Gold Rush, this village, despite its unique name, held a pivotal role in Alaska's gold prospecting history.

Day 5: Dawson City, Canada
180 KM & 3h

As you enter Klondike territory, the history of the gold rush comes to life in Dawson City, founded in 1896. Nestled at the mouth of the Klondike River, it immerses you in a bygone era. The Top of the World Highway awaits you, a legendary route that lives up to its name.

The roads, marked by the whims of the permafrost, and the rugged trails shape your path to the south of Alaska.

Day 8:
Copper Center / Valdez
434 KM & 5h

Valdez greets you with the majesty of the Chugach Mountains and the calming blue of the ocean. Along the way, we trace the contours of the impressive Worthington glacier, with its summits reaching over 2000 meters, extends all the way to Valdez. Then, we make our way back to Copper Center, where we'll spend the next two nights.

Day 9:
Copper Center / McCarthy
360 KM & 5h30

Take a day off to reflect on your past adventures or explore the timeless atmosphere of McCarthy, founded in 1906. Dirt roads lead you to this picturesque and remote place surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes, including Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, the largest national park in the United States.

Day 10:
Anchorage
350 KM & 4h30

Your journey comes to an end in Anchorage, the city where your adventure began.
